ATC - Blue Jungle

Blue Jungle is an ATC made for a trade. I have five works in progress at the moment. I hope to finish at least a couple as I am joining a bunch of gals in the neighbourhood tomorrow for an artsy day. They are all mosaicists and I will be the only stitcher. :)

This little guy Nigel below is our current foster dog. You wouldn't know he's an American Eskimo dog because he's been shaved down. His owner didn't take very good care of him. When he arrived at the rescue shelter, his fur was all matted and he didn't smell too good.

He has undergone two separate surgeries with a week - one to have him neutered and the second time to yank out all his teeth. There really is no excuse for the vet not to have done both procedures at the same time, but I guess this way there's more money in his pocket. Nigel is close to 10 years old and faced greater risk from anasthesia. Whether or not Nigel pulled through the surgeries wouldn't have made any difference to the vet because either way, he gets paid.

I was happy to find out that Nigel is fine and we get to pick him up today.

(ATC) Solar Flare

Someone gave me this swirly fabric which made me think of the sun and solar flares that have been in the news lately. This is going as a trade to Jodie in Texas. I am working on Solar Flare II on a larger scale to hang on the sunshine yellow wall in our office.

A Little Green For St Paddy's Day

I have not started embellishing and stitching this piece yet, but I had to post it as is today because it's green and it's St Patrick's Day. So there. :)

Flower With Green Petals

Another opportunity to use up some of the plastic "petals" in my supply drawer. I think I have enough for a couple of more flowers.

Red Batik Cat

Not much to say today except that I have been in a creative mood in recent weeks. Probably will be posting a lot in the next little while. I am currently working on something green for St Paddy's Day. :)

ATC Pink

I made this ATC for an all pink challenge and swap. I am thinking too much pink is not a good thing, but I still like it or I would not be giving it away. It gave me a chance to use up some of the plastic "petals" I bought at a dollar store a few years ago. Some touches of glitter, which you can't see in the photo, jazz it up a bit too. Hope my swap partner likes it. :)

New ATC

I decided to post my latest this evening, even though I am not entirely pleased with the way the colours turned out on the photo. Natural light is way better. Tomorrow I'll take another snap in daylight and add it to this post for comparison.

I absolutely love the background fabric which, if memory serves me correctly, was given to me by Dot. :)

Alien

While staring at a printed cotton scrap from my enormous stash, what at first looked like flower petals, suddenly morphed into a pair of strange eyes. I reworked the petals into eyes and painted out the rest of the background and ended up with this weird alien looking face (no offence to real aliens). :)

Since hubby took the camera with him today, I had to scan instead of photograph. Trouble is that the scanner bed isn't big enough so I had to scan on an angle. (See top photo). I have two photo editor software programs yet this is the best I could do with the limited rotate and crop features. (See bottom photo). :(

This was fun to work on and I really think I ought to do more oddball beings.
