Another Birthday Card & Another Problem Overcome

I have another friend's birthday coming up early next month.  Here is the card I made for her.  This is an original collage on card stock.

The difficulty I have been having with collage, is finding the right glue that allows me to glue papers of different thicknesses and porosity without distorting or warping the papers.  The answer:  rubber cement.  Finally.  Now I feel I can really move forward and free up the creativity within now that I have put that technical problem behind me.

Incidentally, the card shown here (glued with rubber cement) is for the friend who suggested rubber cement to me.  She said that's all they used in art college.

Envelope for a Birthday Card

Here is an envelope I made for a friend's 60th birthday card.  The envelope itself is made from a sheet of scrap book paper.  The card was oversize so I had to fold it on an angle.

I decorated it with words applicable to my friend, which I cut out from old magazines.  I kept going until I ran out of space.  This was just plain fun.  :)

And the card below - a photo on card stock of a piece of textile art I created a few years ago.

Untitled

I love doing these smaller collages because they really do give me ideas for larger paintings.  Here I love the eye shadow below the eyes and will try to extend it even lower on the next face and see how that works.

29 Faces - #29 - All Finished

I didn't quite make it within the 30 day time frame, but I did finish.  This is a favourite of mine.  :)

29 Faces - #28

I am a little late.  I was supposed to have all 29 faces done by the end of September.
