Stitching To Calm The Nerves

I needed something quick and simple to stitch to calm the nerves.

We are having a major problem with a neighbour and his aggressive German Shepherd that got loose yet again and started running around our property. When I tried to open my front door, the dog started barking, hackles up and lunged at me. I had to call our local animal control. Fortunately, the officer arrived while the dog was still tearing around. She told hubby and me that she has dealt with all sorts of dogs before and this was the first time she had to carry her can of mace for protection before stepping out of her vehicle.

We filled out a complaint and the owner is going to be charged and slapped with a fine.

You want to live in harmony with your neighbours and avoid trouble but where do you draw the line? I shudder to think I was out raking leaves in my own yard earlier today and what if the dog had got loose while I was out there.

Hi Inga.. Oh My Goodness, what a horrible experience....
What is wrong with people to allow such things to happen. No wonder you were upset...Here's hoping that it won't happen again....
The piece you were working on i s really lovely..
A needle and thread are very calming utensils!!

I've done a lot of stitching to calm my nerves! So sorry you had to go through that. I've had some poorly trained neighbor dogs over the years, but none as aggressive as that. Very nice ornament!

Oh dear, what an awful experience. It is unfortunate, but you did the right thing, the owner needs to be aware of his animal and take steps to make sure the animal is contained properly.

The piece is lovely and a little bit of peacefulness in a stressful situation.

I have a major fear of large dogs and I got my dog Chloe to help with that (it didn't) German shepherds really scare me and the girls and I had one follow us to School one day. I thought I was literally going to have a heart attack. I feel for you and would hate an aggressive dog to live next door. I hope everything works out alright with your neighbours. Take care.
