Shabby Tabby Series

Now that my husband and I have retired from our business, I am giving serious consideration to opening an Etsy shop.

The fun part would be creating items for the shop and hopefully filling orders.  The not so fun part, at least from the get go, is figuring out the fine print and how to set up shop.  Fortunately, I opened up an Etsy account under the "Cotton Picker" name years ago.

My focus would be making my moon face ornaments from recycled textiles and some paper collage as well.  Much of my materials come from thrift shops.  I am often amazed at the beautiful floral fabrics (pillow cases and sheets for instance) that I find.  It makes we wonder how people can give these up.  Maybe it's because they look old fashioned, not stylish by today's standards.  Don't know.

I have a accumulated a large collection of fabrics scored from these shops.  I favour florals because it seems they were meant to partner with the Shabby Chic style that I love so much.

At any rate, I have more than enough material to keep me going for a long time, but I know I will not be able to resist adding to the stash when I spot something that I really like.

One of my ideas is to offer a line of floral cats that would bring to mind calico kitties.  That would be the Shabby Tabby Series.  Here then, officially, is the first one of the series.
