Spring Icicle Doll

This Icicle Doll is made from a beautiful vintage fabric, a border print that I inherited from my mother. Since there was less than a yard, I suspect it was meant to be an apron that never got started. The flowers were already arranged in an icicle shape. All I had to do was cut around them.

Because the print is so pretty, I didn't have to do much other than embellish with a few beads. The "hair" is pale yellow baby yarn.

Wow -- it is a great fabric, and you put beads in just the right places.

How special to make an icicle doll from some vintage fabric of your mums!
I wish I had some fabric from one of my mums dresses, aprons or whatever to put into one of my art dolls as it would make them ever so special.

This so beautiful Inga. And the fabric is gorgeous. I love thid doll. And agree the fabric is so beautiful on it's own it didn't need much embellishing.

And how lovely that it is fabric you inherited from your mother too.
